Official Public Notice Roundup: Tuesday, 24 March 2026
The ACT Government and associated municipal directorates have issued the following public notices and service advisories for Tuesday, 24 March 2026. Residents and commuters are advised to review these updates to minimize disruptions to travel and recreation.
Roadworks and Traffic Disruptions
Extensive road maintenance and infrastructure projects are scheduled across the Canberra region. Significant impacts are expected in the following areas:
- Griffith: Lane closures will be in effect from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm on Carstensz Street (from Jansz Crescent to end), La Perouse Street (from Murray Crescent to Flinders Way), and Quiros Street (from Monaro Crescent to Golden Grove) due to scheduled resealing works.
- Harrison & Majura: Night works are scheduled to minimize daytime impact. Well Station Drive will face road closures from 9:00 pm to 5:00 am for asphalt patching. Additionally, the roundabout at Majura Road and Spitfire Avenue will have lane closures between 9:30 pm and 6:00 am.
- City Centre: Bunda Street remains closed between Genge Street and Scotts Crossing for ongoing upgrade works. Motorists should continue to use established diversions.
- Commonwealth Avenue: Light Rail Stage 2A works continue. A short section of Commonwealth Avenue southbound near Parkes Way remains reduced to a single lane until the end of the month.
Public Transport Alerts
Transport Canberra has confirmed several service adjustments affecting the bus network this Tuesday:
- Bus Stop Closures: Bus stop 4415 remains closed through Wednesday, 25 March. In the Tuggeranong region, bus stop 1279 on Erindale Drive will remain closed until 30 March.
- Woden Interchange: Commuters are reminded that the new Woden Interchange is in its final stages of preparation. While the facility is expected to open in late April, the temporary interchange remains fully operational for all current routes.
Parks and Recreation
Seasonal maintenance and safety upgrades affect several popular outdoor locations:
- Sportsgrounds: Most ACT Government turf sportsgrounds are currently closed for a two-week winter sport preparation period. Grounds are expected to reopen for the winter season on 1 April.
- Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve: The Hanging Rock walking track is closed for the remainder of March to facilitate the replacement of the pedestrian bridge.
- Gibraltar Falls: The viewing platform and walking track remain closed for safety infrastructure improvements, with works continuing into mid-2026.
- Water Quality: Tharwa Bridge is currently closed to swimmers due to poor water quality readings. Residents should avoid primary contact with the water until further notice.
Health Services Update
Construction is progressing on the South Tuggeranong Health Centre in Conder, which is slated for completion in mid-2026. Meanwhile, the ACT Government has designated the Inner South Health Centre in Griffith as a Territory Priority Project to expedite its delivery to the community.
