Scheduled Road Maintenance and Traffic Impacts

The ACT Government has scheduled several essential road maintenance projects for Tuesday, 17 February 2026. Motorists should anticipate delays and are encouraged to plan alternative routes to avoid congestion in affected suburbs.

• Gowrie: Lane closures will be in effect on Castleton Crescent, between Sternberg Crescent and Bugden Avenue, from 9:30 am to 2:00 pm for asphalt resealing.
• Gungahlin: Scheduled night works will result in road closures on Anthony Rolfe Avenue, specifically from Kate Crace Street to Alice Cummins Street, between 8:00 pm and 6:00 am.
• Hawker: Ongoing maintenance will cause lane closures at Hawker Place, from Beetaloo Street to Springvale Drive, between 7:00 am and 7:00 pm.
• Mitchell: Localized resurfacing will necessitate night closures on Pelle Street (Hoskins to Dacre) and Buckland Street (Brookes to Grimwade) from 8:00 pm until 6:00 am the following morning.
• Parkes and City Center: Commonwealth Avenue continues to experience intermittent lane reductions in both directions between Parkes Way and Albert Street. These works are part of the Light Rail Stage 2A infrastructure project and are primarily focused on bridge deck construction.
