Public Transport: Updated Bus Network and MyWay+ Technical Alerts

As of Tuesday, 3 February 2026, a new 'construction' bus network is officially in effect across the ACT. This network has been designed to manage traffic disruptions caused by the Commonwealth Avenue Bridge Renewal project. However, Transport Canberra has issued a service advisory regarding a data transmission issue currently affecting the MyWay+ app and the online Journey Planner. Real-time tracking and updated timetables are currently unavailable on these digital platforms, as well as on third-party apps like Google and Apple Maps.

Commuters are advised to refer to printed timetables at major interchanges or download PDF versions from the Transport Canberra website. Service frequency for Rapid routes remains at 15-minute intervals, though travel times on southbound routes during morning peaks are expected to increase by approximately 13 minutes.

Roadworks and Essential Maintenance

ACT City Services crews are conducting several infrastructure projects this week. Motorists and residents should be aware of the following active sites:

  • Resurfacing: Evening pavement resurfacing is ongoing at the Mugga Lane Resource Management Centre. Work is conducted outside of normal operating hours to minimize impact.
  • Suburban Repairs: Asphalt patching is scheduled for roads in Lyons, Mawson, and Wright. Path maintenance and upgrades are currently underway in Fisher, Garran, Phillip, Rivett, Stirling, and Waramanga.
  • Safety Barriers: Installation of road safety barriers continues on Erindale Drive. Drivers are urged to follow all posted speed reductions and directional signage.
  • Woden Valley: Maintenance work near the traffic island at the intersection of Colbee Court and Shea Street in Phillip remains active. The area is temporarily fenced off with completion expected by late February.

Environmental and Health Advisories

The ACT Government has issued the following health and safety notices for public spaces:

  • Water Quality: Yerra Beach remains closed to swimmers due to elevated bacteria levels. Residents should avoid primary contact with the water until further notice.
  • Dam Maintenance: Essential structural work is continuing on the dam walls at Jarramlee and Fassifern. Water levels in both upper and lower dams have been lowered by approximately 0.5 metres to facilitate these works.
  • Tidbinbilla: The demolition of the former Tidbinbilla visitor centre is now underway. The site is being rehabilitated to its natural state, and visitors are asked to keep clear of the construction zone.

Municipal Services Schedule

Mowing and horticultural teams are active in the following regions this Tuesday:

  • Mowing: High-priority mowing and slashing are scheduled for Evatt, Hawker, and McKellar, as well as verges along Paddys River Road and Tidbinbilla Road.
  • Tree Pruning: Pruning and tree removals are being conducted in Hawker and Weetangera, while watering schedules continue for young trees in Bruce, Charnwood, Cook, Higgins, and Macgregor.
  • Weed Control: Crews are targeting African lovegrass and St John’s wort across the Canberra Nature Park reserve network.
