Official Canberra Bulletin: Infrastructure Reopenings and Community Notices for February 9

Major Transport Reopenings and Roadwork Updates
As the working week begins, residents are advised of significant shifts in the city's traffic network following a weekend of major infrastructure works and events. Commuters should be aware that several temporary road closures are being lifted this morning, though long-term project disruptions remain active.
- Commonwealth Avenue Ramp: The northbound ramp to Parkes Way westbound is scheduled to reopen at 6:00 AM on Monday, 9 February, following a weekend of watermain installation for the Light Rail Stage 2A project. While the ramp is opening, motorists should expect intermittent night-time lane reductions on Commonwealth Avenue between Parkes Way and Albert Street throughout the week.
- City South Reopenings: Temporary road closures associated with recent city events are slated for removal by 6:00 AM today. This includes the reopening of Akuna Street (between Cooyong Street and London Circuit) and sections of London Circuit near Constitution Avenue. Drivers are asked to remain cautious as crews finalize the removal of event infrastructure.
- Molonglo Valley Access: Following the recent concrete pours for the new Molonglo River Bridge, Coppins Crossing Road has returned to regular traffic flow. However, further partial closures are expected later this year as bridge construction progresses.
Local Infrastructure and Maintenance Schedule
ACT City Services has released the maintenance and mowing schedule for the week commencing Monday, 9 February. Crews will be active in several residential and commercial zones:
- Suburban Mowing: Priority mowing is scheduled for the suburbs of Chapman, Farrer, Rivett, Torrens, and Whitlam. Motorists are reminded to reduce speed and maintain a safe distance when passing maintenance vehicles on verges and median strips.
- Resource Management: Pavement resurfacing at the Mugga Lane Resource Management Centre is continuing in the evenings. While the facility remains open during normal operating hours, visitors should follow all directional signage and be mindful of temporary site changes.
- Phillip Maintenance: Maintenance work near the intersection of Colbee Court and Shea Street remains active. A small area has been fenced off for safety, with work expected to conclude by late February.
Government Announcements and Deadlines
The following community and administrative notices are active for Monday, 9 February 2026:
